  • Mini Foodies Guide To Ao Nang

I must say, Railay Beach was the worst place in terms of food we have visited in Thailand. We ate at four different restaurants, but we didn’t enjoy the food in any of them. Therefore we cannot recommend any restaurant in Railay Beach. Instead, if you are staying in Railay for more than one night, we recommend taking a boat to Ao Nang Beach. It’s only 15 minutes away, and the ticket costs 100 thb/pax each way.

    May&Zin. Restaurant

May&Zin is located on a corner within an outdoor food court opposite the beach. They have an extensive menu, and it’s really inexpensive. The food was very memorable, especially fried crab with yellow curry powder, so delicious! You have to buy your drinks at a different kiosk. Give it a try; you will not be disappointed.

Fried Clams With Chilli Paste – 120 Thb, Fried Kale With Oyster Sauce – 100 Thb, Steamed Rice – 20 Thb, Fried Crab With Yellow Curry Powder – 150 Thb

Address: Ao Nang Beach, Nopparat Thara Beach, Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Thailand

Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant

Ton Ma Yom is located in a quiet area off the main Ao Nang road, so it was a bit difficult to find but definitely worth looking for. It’s nothing fancy, just authentic and incredibly tasty food at reasonable price. The steamed snapper with spicy lemon sauce was one of the best dishes we tasted during our entire trip. The fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce full of flavour. The sticky mango rice is also highly recommended.

Steamed White Snapper With Spicy Lemon Sauce – 395 Thb, Glass Of Wine – 100 Thb, Small Beer – 60 Thb

Address: 262/ 7 Soi 11 Leelavalley, Ao Nang Beach, Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Thailand
