  • Iceland Foodies Guide

Iceland… a country that enchants with its unique beauty. This is a place where nature rules and gives spectacular shows. When I think of Iceland, I see amazing landscapes of glaciers, waterfalls and erupting geysers. It is like a journey to another world where you feel the power of nature in the most intense way. Our trip took place in winter when the days were short and dark, but at the same time charmingly enchanting. There’s something magical about Iceland in the winter months, the almost persistent twilight creates an otherworldly atmosphere. This prolonged darkness, coupled (if you’re lucky) with the occasional dance of the Northern Lights, adds a mystical allure to the surroundings. What remains in my memories is the constant contrast between hot and cold. Walking through icy streets and finding shelter in warm and cozy interiors. Immersion in hot natural springs straight from -5 C to +36 C. A warming sip of tea with bourbon from a thermos, on frozen lips. Hot fish and chips eaten with frozen fingers from a stand next to a gas station, surprisingly delicious from such an unexpected location. And of course steaming bowls of creamy langoustine soup to warm the body and soul.
